As a new elementary school in a new subdivision, the school site adjoins a hike and bike trail system connected to parks, city ballfields and a lake. Walker Elementary is the first siting of the District's new elementary prototype and uses design elements from the subdivision including natural stone and standing seam metal roofing.
The project includes 30 classrooms, music room, science lab, computer lab, art room, speech therapy room, diagnostician room, reading intervention room, life skills room, library, cafetorium, kitchen, gym, and administration office. Technology infrastructure is provided for video, computer networking and multimedia systems throughout all classrooms.
