LEARNING AS A COMMUNITY
A new 193,000 SF high school in eastern Collin County, for 800 students in grades 9-12, consists of three sections, each running east-west for optimum solar orientation—a Main Entrance and Academic wing, a Fine Arts and Food Service wing, and an Athletics wing. Large outdoor learning spaces live between the wings. Classrooms are clustered into smaller learning communities, while the project also includes an 800-seat auditorium. This new high school opened in the fall of 2020, with plans to undergo an expansion of 8 additional classrooms, to be completed in 2021.
