LARGE URBAN HIGH SCHOOL ADDITION
In 2016, Dallas ISD changed from another firm to WRA Architects for a large addition/renovation project at Hillcrest High School, a 50-year old high school in north Dallas. WRA has designed three additions on separate sides of the existing building and renovations in other areas. The work includes 29 new classrooms, a new front office suite with security vestibule, a new competition gymnasium with seating for 1,000, and a new locker room constructed as an ICC-500 Storm Shelter with a capacity for 1,500 people. The project also includes renovating a classroom wing into one of Dallas ISD's three new Collegiate Academies. The project consists of 81,400 SF of additions plus 21,000 SF of renovated areas and is scheduled for completion in 2019.
