WRA’s 2016 Retrospect exhibit piece is an abstract expression of the influence our school designs have on society. Building a grand display to frame images of our projects would be a poor reflection of how we think and approach projects here at WRA. We believe that school design must be in a state of flux, continuously adapting to the changes in education. To continually repeat notions of past school design would not serve the evolving needs of 21st century learning that recognize the diversity in how students learn. This idea is represented in the void of our sculpture as the layers begin to shift and bend, evoking a sense of continuous change, while the color-changing LED represents the diversity of students and their learning styles. All of this housed in a dynamic form that was derived from our logo, a square and rectangle.
