HIGH SCHOOL EXPANSION AND NEW AUDITORIUM
It has been over ten years now since the citizens of Sunnyvale authorized a bond to build the Town’s first-ever high school. In that time since 2007, Sunnyvale High School has become a focal point of the community, and its students have excelled in academics, fine arts, and athletics. In 2017, Sunnyvale authorized another bond to expand the high school, to keep up with the growth in student population, and to support the District’s vision for education in the 21st Century. This expansion includes a 59,000 SF addition and 16,000 SF of renovation. The project includes a new commons area, career counseling center, a 400-seat auditorium, and a storm shelter. Also includes a classroom addition dedicated to the District’s STEAM and Career and Technical Education curriculum. The design features labs grouped in clusters around classrooms with large open spaces for team collaboration or individual research and study.

WHEN WHO YOU WORK WITH MATTERS
“Their partners and staff understand our district's desire to move beyond the boundaries of the traditional classrooms to provide the type of education our students need - and that's inquiry-based, hands-on learning. Our teachers guide our students to question, create and problem-solve, and WRA truly understands the inventive spaces needed for that type of thinking and exploration."
