Village Tech Schools

After years of planning, Village Tech Schools’ first permanent home is one step closer to reality. Phase one of that permanent home repurposes an existing 47,000 square foot structure at the corner of Danieldale and Cedar Hill Roads in Duncanville and is designed to advance the mission of Village Tech by supporting the three Cs of Character, Challenge, and Community. The exterior courtyards that are central to the Cedar Hill campus have been translated into interior collaboration spaces filled with soft seating and access to technology. Walls of glass separate classrooms, conference spaces, and offices from these collaboration spaces, creating a sense of community. A neutral interior palette focuses attention on student work. This, along with a variety of space that supports student presentation, fosters Challenge. And simply having an environment that students can call their own, care for, and be proud of, reinforces Character. The heart of the new school is an expansive two-story space that will serve as dining room, commons, and all-purpose space for many school events and activities. This is truly a community room where students of all ages can come together. A learning stair connects the first and second floor and will be the home of a wide range of activities, from just hanging out, to hosting presentations and programs.

WHEN WHO YOU WORK WITH MATTERS

"WRA invested significant time in understanding who we are and what we are trying to accomplish. From our first meeting to showing up with family members in tow for our first Open House in the new space, WRA has been in our work at the 'heart' level."
