Vanston Middle School Addition & Renovation
Mesquite, TX
Summer 2006
The original building was one of the older elementary schools in Mesquite ISD. Even though additions had been added years ago to convert it to a middle school, the majority of the facility was comprised of separate units with exterior corridors. The existing slab on grade foundation system had experienced significant movement over the years and was past economic renovation or repair. The new replacement middle school was constructed in the location of the practice fields. After the new building was completed, the existing building was razed in the summer and the front parking area, athletic fields and track were constructed.
