Gary S. Jones Administration Building
Fort Worth, TX
Fall 2014
Originally built in 1938 in the Art Deco style and expanded in 1945, the former Castleberry Elementary School served students for 75 years before being transformed into the district’s new administration building. The renovation prioritized preserving the building’s historic character while modernizing it. The former cafeteria/auditorium now serves as the board room, and classrooms were converted into offices and conference spaces. Major energy upgrades included fully insulating and sealing the once-uninsulated exterior walls, revealing the warmth and texture of the original poured-in-place concrete beneath decades-old plaster.
