Career Institute West is a continuation of WRA's work with Dallas ISD to provide career-focused technical education to the last of the four cardinal quadrants served by DISD CTE centers. C.I. West is a sister campus to C.I. North in both educational programs and design language. The exterior features terra cotta panels, masonry, and metal panels segmented by vertical bands of windows. The interior is neutral with wood tones and shades of grey. The design team exposed portions of the building's structure including large trusses and X-bracing, and installed windows to reveal mechanical systems so the building could be used as a teaching tool.
