Mesquite ISD's ninth new middle school is designed to serve students in grades 6 through 8 and includes an ICC-500 community storm shelter. The 193,000 square foot school is designed for an initial capacity of up to 1,200 students with core element sized to enlarge the school in the future up to 1,400 students. Between the classroom wings is a large outdoor learning courtyard. The project also includes a stadium with an 8-lane track, synthetic turf field, grandstands for 1,800, pressbox, and stadium lighting and sound systems. Other provisions include tennis courts and an 80-yard practice field.
